A Trip to Hamilton without Kids...WHAT?

I don't have many pictures from this past weekend but I wanted to share a couple. My parents kept all the kids in Chelsea and let us grown kids (and friends) take over their house for the weekend! I can not tell you how much fun we had AND we got to sleep in too! The weekend consisted of two river floats, lots of amazing food, bonfires and FUN!
Probably the most exciting and crazy thing that happened all weekend started with Jonathan pulling on a trot line in the river. Lee quickly went over to get a picture with this huge fish:
I can also say that I made some KILLER salsa, six cups to be exact, and we ate it along with my Dad's amazing smoked pork.

I would love for that weekend to become an annual thing...it was that fun!

NY Bound

Well we survived 17 hours to New York and 17 hours back with a two year old and a seven month old! Jonathan's grandmother (Ellen) passed away in April and the family decided to wait and have a memorial for her on her birthday weekend. Actually all the Alabama Schlenkers got to make the journey. However, our little family was the only group that drove overnight. Looking back, I think it was the best for our family since Cash and Elly K spent the longest amount of time sleeping during the night in their carseats. Nevertheless, here are some pictures from our trip to New York!

Heading out:
First picture after a night on the road...pretty happy for the little sleep she actually got:
Not as happy but he got much more sleep than his sister:
Being silly with the Dollar General jewelry I got her:
Little did we know, another tooth would appear the day after we got back from New York:
Happy to be OUT OF THE CAR!
Although I don't look it, I was HAPPY too:
Playing with cousins at Aunt Carol's house:
 Sweet baby:
 Girl loves some watermelon:
Where we spend the majority of our time:
 Getting kisses from cousin Jax:
Realizing he got caught being sweet:
Both kids slept GREAT while there. This is how I found EK one morning:
And this stinker slept ALL NIGHT LONG for the first time in week's every night in NY:
Cousins picture in Woodstock:
Daddy and EK in Woodstock:
Momma and Cash there too:
The place we stayed had a really cute playground. Where's Elly K?:

Where is EK now?
He loved swinging:
 I tried to reenact Titanic...failed:

Elly K being silly on the ride back:
How do you get a girl that needs to be in her own room to sleep to take a nap? Make her a room in the mini-van:
Worked perfectly:
Our first LONG trip was tons of fun and very exhausting. I was so happy to get to meet all of Jonathan's side of the family that I never got to meet before. Actually the last time he saw them was before me and having kids! Hopefully we can make another trip up there when the kids are a bit older!

Love-Fest

I couldn't help but share this love-fest. While Curt, Cash and Elly K take cute, loving photos for Gram one day:
 Hugs and kisses and all:
Jack wants nothing to do with it!

 Good chuckle every time!

Eight is Great!

This was the first (of many I'm sure) photo session that Mr. Cash wasn't in to. He was done with the day and sleepy but we got a couple of shots while Gram held Elly K out of the room.
But don't worry...Elly K always has to get in the pictures too:
Eight is even more great when you fall off a chair and take a hit to the face...Sweet little scabbed up nose and bruised forehead:

Two Year Old and Six Month Old Pictures

How amazing did these photos turn out?!? Molly Bridges did an amazing job once again and I can't wait to have more taken in the future with her! Side note - These pictures were taken inside the glass house at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens while it rained poured outside...and you would have never known if I didn't tell you.
She was able to capture our two kiddos' personalities beautifully!

I went to this session with no desire to even try to get a picture of Elly and Cash together. Once we saw how great Cash did, she suggested putting Elly K up there beside him. SO.GLAD.WE.DID!
 Melts my heart!
She also sends all the pictures in B&W. Here are a couple of them:
