This girl has some mad skills when it comes to dancing. For some odd reason, she loves this song and will start dancing to it anytime she hears that beat!
Fall Time Photos
Gram is the master of great outfits and wonderful pictures yet again! I just had to share these pictures she snapped this past Sunday!
And just for comparison purposes, check out Elly K last October compared to this October:
Our "Pumpkin Head" is growing up!
Six Weeks?!?!
Yep, I only have 6ish weeks left. Do we have the nursery ready? Nope. Have I ordered/bought anything that I need for this baby boy? Nope (other than clothes that others have gotten for him). Have I hit the huge wall called fatigue? Oh YEAH! I sure wish I had this so-called "Nesting" phase that lots of other women talk about. I guess since I don't have any other pregnancy symptoms/issues, I won't get that one either.....its a shame cause I sure could use that energy right about now.
Beach Trip - Part 2
So the second part of our beach trip needs to be blogged about before its November (by the way...where has this month gone already...). Anyways, each day we went to the beach. We borrowed a wagon for this trip and it made getting to the beach MEGA easy. Elly K and the cooler would fit in the wagon and then Jonathan and I could get the rest.
Very convenient and cute:
We didn't have a long stroll to the beach and back at all:
We even went on a walk in the wagon one evening:
Elly K loved it. She would just lay back and enjoy the ride:
But back to the beach! We may have put EK in a hole (and she didn't like it at all):
But don't worry, she didn't hold it against us for long. This girl knows when to say "cheese". We don't even have to ask her to half the time:
Love that cheesy face:
I thought this was too cute not to post. One of the days we were there, EK took a later nap than I wanted her to. Since we were in a camper, I had to lay with her to go to sleep. Well after about an hour with her, I came out to find this note from Jonathan:
Oh and just so you know, EK really enjoyed her unusual bath spots. Two of the nights this occurred outside but one night (the night she had suntan lotion in her eyes) I did bath time inside:
During our last night here, I was exhausted and went to sleep when Elly K did. However, Jonathan sat outside and enjoyed the nice weather.....and a visit from a friend! I saw one raccoon our first night there but this time the raccoon just came on over to the campsite and dug around. Jonathan even tried to scare him off but it didn't care at all (you have to look closely to see it):
Finally, we headed back to Alabama after a nice beach trip. We made it half way back and decided it was time to get the little one out of the truck for a little bit. Of course we stopped at the same Flying J that we stopped at Friday night/Saturday morning. However, this time EK decided to play peek-a-boo with me till it was time to eat!
Overall, we had a wonderful trip! If you ever want to really get away from it all, Port St. Joe's State Park is the place to go. And I mean really get away from it ALL! Even cell phone service! It was so weird being that "disconnected" from the world. Nevertheless, it was a wonderful family vacation and can't wait to take EK (and her brother) back to the beach next year!!
She's Greek....
One night I decided to enjoy a Greek salad that my mom had left in the fridge. After two bites, I had a friend.....and her name was Elly K.
I literally took two bites and enjoyed the tomatoes and this little girl ate the rest:
I had to get an action shot for documentation purposes. This is one of those moments that you don't think anyone will believe unless you have proof. What 18 month old likes Greek salad (feta and all):
But she loved it:
Saturday Night Dates
A couple of week ago, I kept the Cashion boys so their momma could go out for a little bit. EK still adores Curt and Jack so keeping all three has never been an issue. THEY LOVE EACH OTHER!
I thought I would share some of the moments from our date night with the boys.
This blur would be Jack tickling Elly K:
And then Curt got in on the action and started a pillow fight with her:
Due to a recent dishwasher issue, we had a box to play with outside:
But EK was more interested in going up the slide...with her one sock on (FYI - she learned this wasn't much fun after a couple of falls):
Trying to get them to eat supper was entertaining. There was too much playing to do to slow down for eating:
And the night ended with Curt and Jack performing the "Hotdog" dance for me:
We always have fun with the Cashion boys!
Yogurt...
Someone loves key lime pie yogurt these days...especially when she gets to get it like a big girl!
So so yummy!
Who needs a spoon?? Not Elly K....
The end:
50 Minutes of Spaghetti O's
Last night, I decided to give Spaghetti O's a try again. Elly K use to love them but then decided she didn't. This time, I gave her the spoon and the bowl, undressed her, and let her have at it. The first 30 minutes were spend playing with the O's:
Then she decided the bowl needed to be moved to the table for more play room:
Then FINALLY, and I mean 30 minutes later FINALLY, she decided to give them a try:
And guess what?!? She loved them. I even had to scoop some of the "played with" O's back in her bowl so she could have more:
Fully indulging:
After 50 minutes, EK had eaten almost all her food! O's, peas, cornbread, cheddar cheese, and a few grapes! Guess we will have to add Spaghetti O's to our regular rotation.....just know we will be at the table for a while.
Beach Trip 2013 - Part 1
So another Schlenker camping adventure took place over the last weekend in September. I will break this down into two part since my blogger app hates posting so many pictures at one time!
After doing some major research, I found a RV park so close to the beach that you didn't need to drive to get there. I really didn't want to wag all that stuff from the truck to the beach for 2 hours then have to wag it all back (and drive back to the camper) due to a nap time. So we headed to Port St Joe State Park!! The camp sites were just over the dunes from the beach. It was the perfect distance!
Since it was a 6+ hour drive, we decided to leave out Friday afternoon and make it to Dothan for the night.
Before making the trip, a DVD player was purchased for our (Momma and Daddy's) sanity! Lets just say, I know some Max and Ruby, Team Umizoomi, and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse episodes by heart.
After spending the night at the Flying J in Dothan (yes you read that correctly....camper, Flying J, overnight, parking lot...not the greatest night) we got up and headed to Florida.
Miss EK sure knows how to make a car seat look comfortable:
I took this picture on the bay side. The water was so pretty there!
Once we got there is was nap time but then we hit up the beach for a little afternoon fun.
She was all about the digging this first day!
But she eventually fell in love with the water (please don't judge...I'm 8 months pregnant):
After a much quieter night, we started the next morning with a trip to the park. I don't know who was having more fun:
Beach Trip Part 2 Preview: No cell service, more beach pictures, a run in with wildlife, and the trip back.
