November Photo Dump

One of EK's Thanksgiving dresses (by Gram of course):
EK got to visit mine and Gram's alma mater (The big UNA):
Still eating that salad like a champ (and taco meat):
She loves to put her shoes on like a big girl:
She even corrected her mis-matched shoes on this occasion (one smart and fashionable girl):
Still putting shoes on:
We have no clue how she did this:
But this is her saying "I stuck":
Playing with Daddy one evening:
She loves it:
And finally her beach hat that she still wears on occasion:
Happy November Everyone!

Brother's Crib

Elly K has a new game she likes to play...she can climb into her brother's bed.

Once she has gotten in to his bed, she loves to jump and play (and have Daddy throw "bean bags" at her).
She has even taught cousin Jack how to climb in to the crib!
Guess we will have to keep the door closed at all times when Baby Brother is sleeping in there!

A New Obsession...

Elly K loves the fish aisle at Wal-Mart! If we walk past it, we must stop to point at the fish. I figure a fish tank with a few fish for our home is in our near future!!

Free Red Plastic Fire Hat...

Silly silly Elly K and her red plastic firefighter hat:

This girl loves hats!

Ways to Sit in a Chair

EK loves this wooden chair that we got from a family friend. However, you will rarely see her sitting in it correctly. She loves to move it around and play on it! Silly silly girl!!
She will make her own recliner:
She will turn it over:
And flip it upside down:

Deer Art

For the new baby's room, Jonathan wanted a hunting themed room. I was totally fine with that as long as it didn't involve camo (I wanted a more modern take on hunting). Well last week, I finally got around to completing a little DIY art that I found on Esty (but I was just unwilling to pay for).

I liked the burlap and the deer silhouette and thought it would be a great addition to our little hunter's room.
So I decided to make one myself. I found a frame in my parents basement that was already completed (and worked with some other frames for the room). This frame had an odd opening of 9x14 so I knew I would have to customize the deer to that size. I found a deer silhouette online, printed it and then enlarged it by 300%. This is what I started with:
Then I took that enlargement and covered in packaging tape for protection from the paint. I also customized the deer. Jonathan has killed two 7-point deer and their are mounted in our basement man cave. So I cut this deer down, from an 11-point to a 7-point to match.

Once I got that done, I adhered my burlap to a piece of foam board, then sprayed the back of my template with spray adhesive so that it would stick while I painted. It worked out better than I thought it would.
After a little white paint, here is what we got:
I think it turned out better than what I was copying!! I promise to post more pictures of the nursery soon. We finally got it 98% done...although I probably shouldn't say "we". I will tell you all about that soon...I promise.

One Happy Turkey!

Over the weekend, Gram (once again) was able to get some amazing pictures of Miss Elly K! The way to get a girl to smile, you might ask...by throwing leaves on the photographer! HA!
I would say "Ready, Set.." and EK would raise her arms and yell "GO!":
She did this over and over again (we have lots of pictures with her arms up in the air):
 Love this little cutie:
And of course, there were serious pictures as well:
Since Jonathan decided not to hunt this particular afternoon, he drove us out to where we took the pictures. I forced him to be my model for at least one test shot! However, I think it looks awesome. That's my hubby right in his element...the woods:

Halloween Festivities

The week prior to Halloween was filled with several Halloween related activities.
Of course we carved a pumpkin:
Which Elly K could have cared less about. So it was up to me and Jonathan to get the job done:
Finished product:
This past Saturday (during half-time of the Alabama game) we headed to a local Trunk-or-Treat. Our cheerleader was ready for the action:
However, all she really cared about was seeing the balloons. Maybe next year she will understand the concept of free candy a little bit better:
No candy needed for this one...just her balloon:
Our little cheerleader says "Roll Tide":
The next night we headed over to Pelham for a Trunk-or-Treat with the Cashion boys. This evening Miss EK was a ballerina (eating beef jerky and refusing to wear the bow):
So pretty:

Then last night (Halloween night) we decided to stay in since there was rain headed our way. Nevertheless, EK had another cute "costume" to wear for the evening (thanks to Gram):
So here is the Halloween 2013 wrap-up:
We can't wait till next year when she will better understand the concept of Halloween (and bring home some candy for her momma and daddy)!
